This custom home was built on a horse farm so the colour of the home is meant to pay homage to a traditional barn. Custom elements abound in the home include the peeled log deck supports, a custom made front door using a graphic supplied by the homeowner, the water feature at the front entry, a veterinary area for sick-horses under the deck, and the suite for a family member to have their own space. An eclectic mix of modern, country and traditional are fused seamlessly in this home. The polished concrete floors and countertops and the exposed beams are a nod to the modern while the barn look on the exterior is the country influence. The client has merged her antique furniture with the modern surroundings to create a homey atmosphere.
